Frequently asked questions

If you can't find what you're looking for, send us an email.

    • Can I use something other than a Gmail account?

No, we only support Gmail accounts at this time. Let us know which email provider you use and we will work on adding support for it. As a workaround, it may be possible to use an inbox rule on your preferred provider to forward your emails to a burner Gmail account, and sign in with that.

    • What security does Sigma have?

Your email data is encrypted and stored on your devices, not ours. We have taken and passed a third party security audit (CASA Tier 2) required by Google in order to access your Gmail account. In addition, we are backed by many things that Gmail provides in terms of security. For example, 2FA, SSO, and malicious email filtering are all handled by Google.

    • Will my Gmail inbox be affected?

No, we don't touch your Gmail inbox. The only exception is if you choose to send email through Sigma - we send those emails (and ONLY those emails) from your Gmail account and they will appear in your Gmail sent folder. You can leave Sigma at any time and your Gmail inbox will be exactly how you left it. If anything goes wrong with Sigma, your Gmail account should not be affected in any way.

    • Does Sigma use my existing email address or is it a new one?

Sigma uses your existing email address. You can send and receive emails from your current @gmail.com email address.

    • Where are my emails stored? Can Sigma employees read my emails?

No, Sigma employees do not have access to your emails. None of your emails are ever stored on our servers, logged, or looked at. They are accessed through the Gmail API and then stored on your device. Sigma servers only store your basic user information.

    • What are the storage limits of Sigma?

Because we use your Gmail account, you have the same storage limits as your Gmail account. If you pay for more data in Gmail, you will have the additional space in Sigma.

    • Are there any third party Terms of Service I need to be familiar with?

Sigma's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For a complete understanding of how we use your data, please see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. There's nothing scary in there, we promise.

    • How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the account management page inside of Sigma, or you can email us at matt.gogan@pocketcity.app to have your account and data deleted.
